Bottleneck could go at La Vrangue

A NARROW, busy road, which is close to a large site earmarked for housing, could be getting a metre wider under plans put forward by a developer.

La Vrangue is a bus route but the road narrows outside The Manor and La Vrangue Lodge, which forces vehicles regularly to mount the pavement.

Balmoral Properties Ltd owns the houses.

Project designer Andre Bisson, from A7 Design, said the roadway was substandard and did not meet minimum width requirements.

'The reasoning behind the road widening is to improve the safety of La Vrangue Road for pedestrians and vehicle users alike, by removing the bottleneck that currently exists from the junction with Rue Thomas towards the western boundary of The Manor,' he said.

'The road widening will allow vehicles to travel safely, without the need to mount the kerb of the pedestrian footpath.'
