Pupils are latest faces of Pride of Guernsey image
AS THE nominations continue to roll in for the Pride of Guernsey Awards, Hautes Capelles School has become the latest supporter of the campaign.

With 12 categories, the Guernsey Press initiative is a brand-new way for the island to celebrate all those who make us proud yet who rarely get a mention.
And with one of those awards being for Teacher of the Year, sponsored by the Garenne Group, the school said it was keen to show its support.
With the help of professional face-painter Joni Lockwood, two of the school's pupils had their faces painted to look the same as our Pride of Guernsey image, featuring the Guernsey flag, that launched our campaign.
Her son Ellis Lockwood, who turns 10 tomorrow, and Rebecca Hind, already 10, were more than happy to model the island's iconic emblem.
Head teacher Sue Coughlin believed the awards could only be a good thing. 'It is lovely to have an award focusing on the quality of teaching in the island,' she said.
'I am really proud of all the teachers I have worked with and what they do. It is important to recognise their hard work.'
Joni, a mother of four, was also pleased to show her support.
'I'm really pleased to have been asked to paint Ellis and Rebecca today, I think the Pride of Guernsey Awards are a lovely idea and I'm happy to be involved,' she said.
Joni started up her business, Face Painting by Joni, two years ago after painting faces at her children's birthday parties and deciding to do professional training.
Gradually demand grew and she now takes bookings for children's and adult's birthday parties, weddings, festivals and events.
The other categories for Pride of Guernsey include Emergency Hero of the Year (for our 999 responders), Angel of the Year (for medics and nurses), Neighbour of the Year, Carer of the Year and Parish Champion of the Year.
We are also searching for the Bailiwick's grandparents of the year, parents of the year, young achievers, those who make great contributions to our arts community, or who have overcome adversity, or those who – on behalf of our islands – roll out the welcome mat in style.
Use the form below to nominate someone, or nominate online by visiting our special sister website at wwwprideofguernsey.com.
Closing date for entries is 30 June. The public vote will then begin. Each award winner will receive a prize worth £1,000.
