The former Environment Department had said that work would start in June, but that is no longer the case.
Planning work and the legal necessity for a consultation to be carried out about a certain element of the planned changes was given by Traffic and Highway Services, a division of Environment & Infrastructure, as reasons for the delay.
A spokesperson said a large amount of work on the project is being carried out.
'Resources have been prioritised on changes proposed for the Salerie Corner junction, as this is considered to be the section where improvements are most needed.
'The plans include the installation of a raised table and alteration of kerbs, to slow vehicles when entering/exiting the car park, realignment of the cycle path, so that inter-visibility between the motorist and cyclist is improved, and the installation of coloured surfacing along the cycle path where it crosses the junction.
'The full details will be made public as soon as possible.'
