Pride of Guernsey: 'Commitment is huge'
THE way that Andrew Pouteaux works is good for all of us, according to one woman.
A driving force behind the Art of Living Community Volunteers, his other hats include The Legacy Team, Town Centre Partnership, Rocquaine Regatta and Floral Guernsey, to name but some.
Katina Jones said many of the projects in which Mr Pouteaux had got involved would not have happened without him. It had prompted her to nominate him for the OCS-sponsored Parish Champion of the Year award.
'Andrew and his team undertake work in all parishes,' she said. 'His commitment to others is huge and one that many of us need to make things happen.
'Having worked with Andrew and his team many times, he makes sure that they are all are suited for the work ahead and plans the diary to make sure that they are not overburdened.'
He is also willing to hear people's problems and does not pre-judge anyone. He is fair and easy to speak to, she added.
Mrs Jones also said his help in St Peter Port in particular had been huge. He had been heavily involved in the La Vallette project and with his team did jobs such as putting up bunting for various events.
