Pride of Guernsey: 'Supportive in everything'
A LES VOIES SCHOOL teacher has been there for one student through all his problems and is 'absolutely brilliant', according to the child's mother.
Emma Billien has nominated Dominique Reilly for the Teacher of the Year Award, which is sponsored by the Garenne Group.
She said Mrs Reilly had been such a help to her son, Ryan, and had even gone along to support him at a Youth Games squash tournament outside school hours.
'My son goes to Les Voies School and she has always been there for him through all of the problems that he has,' she said.
'She always encouraged Ryan to do his best and is always supportive with everything he does.
'She has gone to activities outside of school and she is the one person my son likes to turn to in school.
'Mrs Reilly has the patience of a saint and always deals with Ryan in a very good way.
'All the teachers deserve a medal at that school, but Mrs Reilly more than most. She is a super teacher and Ryan loves her lots.'
Ryan, who is 11, has attended Les Voies since Year 4.
