Pride of Guernsey - 'a great inspiration'
AN 'INSPIRATION' to her music students, Elise Herve has been nominated for the Garenne-sponsored Teacher of the Year Award, while on maternity leave.
Pupil Alex Le Maitre, 16, put her forward for the award and said their teacher was very much missed while away from school.
'Mrs Herve has been a great inspiration to her now Year 11 Btec music students throughout the last three years,' she said. 'Her never-ending support, enthusiasm and encouragement to all members – including guitar players, singers, keyboard players – of this music class has been outstanding.
'Mrs Herve has just gone on maternity leave and the group miss her very much.'
Alex said they just hope they all achieve the best results for their 'inspirational' teacher this summer to make her as proud of them as they are of her.
A hugely popular teacher, who is head of performing arts at Les Beaucamps High School and whose pupils certainly think she is more than worthy of a nomination and to pick up the Teacher of the Year prize.
