Pride of Guernsey: 'A single parent who tirelessly cares for her two sons'

Tracy Setters, 43, has been nominated for the Parent/s of the Year Award, sponsored by The Christies Group, by Vicky Godley.

Vicky said she had known Tracy since she moved to the island and Tracy was the first parent to invite her youngest son to play with her boys.

'She is a single parent who tirelessly cares for her two sons Harvey, 10, and Jacob, 11.

'She is such a great role model for them and the centre of all she does is her wanting to do her best for children.'

Vicky said Tracy had a close family network who all looked after one another, with her parents central to her family life also.

'Tracy spends every spare minute enriching the experiences of her boys, whether walking on the beach, in the garden or supporting them in their learning.

'She is a mum we would all want to replicate and I know she cherishes her boys, but she is a mum to cherish too.'

Someone who works hard in her job at school and home, and who gives her time willingly, Vicky said Tracy was always cheerful and took everything in her stride.

'A Guernsey girl without doubt.'
