Orla-Marie Manning, 31, has worked for Headway Guernsey for five years and previously had helped the charity in the UK.

She was nominated by Norma and Hagan Ferbrache.

Hagan had an accident in 2002 and Headway has been helping him.

The couple said she had gone beyond the responsibilities of her job to help and encourage him.

Orla helped rekindle Hagan's love of art and he now heads the charity's art group.

'Orla made me believe in myself and I hugely value that,' said Hagan.

The couple said all Headway's members really valued Orla's work and she was loved and respected by the people she helped.

Orla got involved with the charity when it started 10 years ago, following a personal experience of a family member, who had a head injury.
