Nikita Le Prevost, 22, has been nominated for the Angel of the Year Award, sponsored by Ravenscroft.

Nominated by patient Phil Jones, 35, Miss Le Prevost is always ready to do her job.

'I feel that Nikita deserves this award because she is an auxillary nurse on Giffard Ward, on which I have been a patient on for the past three months,' he said.

'I have come to realise that she is one of the kindest and most helpful of all the axillary nurses who also work on the ward.

'Nikita always comes to work with a smile on her face no matter what time of day or night it may be.

'She always shows complete professionalism in her work and will always be there to help you in any way she can, whether it be something simple like plumping another patient's pillow, or making them some kind of refreshment, or even helping a trained nurse to clean up a patient who may have had an accident, or assisting a nurse to do a patient's dressing.'

Miss Le Prevost, he said, never shied away from anything.

'She always comes to work fighting fit and ready to take on the challenge of the day ahead.

'She always makes a patient feel comfortable and never leaves them feeling like they are unwelcome or a burden to others.'
