Quayside site could house three shops
THREE large retail outlets could be created on the former Quayside site, in a bid to make it into a destination site for shoppers.

A planning application has been submitted for the land on North Side, Vale, which would see the buildings cleared to make way for the shops and 73 parking spaces.
Currently there is a mixture of retail and industrial uses on the site, but it has been quiet since homeware shop Quayside closed at the start of 2015 due to the poor state of the building.
Alternative uses for the site were explored, including housing. While up to 26 homes could be built on the land, it was decided that the proximity to the power station and fuel stores meant it was not viable.
Tourist accommodation was ruled out for the same reason.
