Pride of Guernsey: 'Constant source of support'
A DOCTOR who 'never gives up on her patients or allows them to give up' has been nominated for the Angel of the Year award, sponsored by Ravenscroft.
Dr Lucy Joslin's nominator, who wished to remain anonymous, said she had helped them to manage their anxiety and depression.
'She has been my GP for many years and has helped me more than anyone has with my anxiety and depression,' they said. 'Even though the past therapy she referred me for has been successful, it has uncovered many traumas from my childhood which Dr Joslin continues to help me with.'
They said Dr Joslin was a constant source of support who always made herself available.
'These traumas cause me to struggle every day, but she always gives me total support and guidance,' they said.
'She never turns me away and always listens and makes sense of the mixed-up thoughts and feelings I have.'
They said Dr Joslin had also helped them through their diagnosis of dyslexia and had encouraged them to directly face and confront their fears.
'She will push me to confront what scares me the most, as she know it makes me stronger by doing so.'
