Alderney could manage its own airline, says P&R boss
POTENTIAL changes to the way Alderney's air services are run would allow for an alternative operator to rival Aurigny for the contract, Policy & Resources president Gavin St Pier has said.

He said consideration had been given to the concept of a public service obligation for Alderney in the future and this could provide an opportunity for an airline controlled, owned and/or managed by the island to bid as a tender.
Deputy St Pier said it was his view that the process would be 'much more worthwhile' if there were alternative suppliers with tenders.
His comments came in a letter to Alderney's Policy and Finance Committee chairman Robert McDowall, after his recent criticism of the air services, calling some of the failures 'pure comedy'.
