The stages have been erected and organisers were yesterday carrying out the finishing touches down at Vale Castle.

Between 2,000 and 3,000 people have attended the event in recent years and organisers are hoping for a good turnout this time around.

Errol Groves, 67, helped set up the inaugural event.

'The idea was hatched on the beach at L'Eree where a few of us used to gather,' he said.

'I was doing the best job ever in the brilliant summer of 1976 by looking after the deckchairs there.'

Tickets bought in advance cost £20 or £25 on the gate. Under 12s, who accompanied by an adult, get in free.

Concessions are available for the under-18s and the over-65s at £15 in advance or £20 at the gate.

Tickets can be bought from Kendall Guitars, Yakwax Surf Shop, HS2,

Manzur and Bluchip.
