The Avril Earl Dance & Theatre Arts Centre will use the new community centre for its dance studio, which will be a major upgrade compared to its previous location.

Following the closure of the primary school, which was approved controversially by the States in 2013, plans have been under way in the parish to convert it into a community centre that can be used to still provide some forms of education.

Dance school principal Avril Earl said they could not wait to move in.

'It's a fantastic opportunity to provide absolutely great facilities for dancers in Guernsey', she said.

'It gives us the opportunity to bring the standard of our dancers up to the high level in the UK, which is what it has to be to compete'.
