Originally estimated to cost £50,000, Environment & Infrastructure president Barry Brehaut said the final figure was likely to be around £130,000 – but all the bills have yet to arrive.
The overspend has led to an internal review to find out why the project cost is more than double what was estimated.
The Scrutiny Management Committee, which previously indicated it would look into the matter if the cost was more than £80,000, said it would wait for the result of an internal review.
