Sports clubs 'have made huge steps in child welfare'
HUGE steps have been made in child welfare and protection, Guernsey sports clubs have assured.

It comes after an increasing number of alleged sex scandals in football are revealed in the UK.
The Guernsey Island Amateur Athletics Club is one of the largest sporting clubs for children in the island. Itsdevelopment officer, Tom Druce, said there had been great improvements during the last decade.
Mr Druce said GIAAC has its own child protection policy, two welfare officers and it is tight with its DBS control, following the correct procedure.
Guernsey Rugby gave similar assurances, and cited the heavy vetting which coaches faced to make sure the club was a safe environment for young people.
