Cicra drops inquiry into alleged States contract abuse due to funds delay

AN INVESTIGATION into an alleged significant market abuse involving a multi-million pound States contract has been dropped because it took too long to get the funding to do the work.

The former Commerce and Employment board had denied the Guernsey arm of the Competition and Regulatory Authorities the money last term, but it was rebooted when the new Policy & Resources Committee effectively backed the inquiry in the summer.
