Speaking at a Scrutiny hearing this morning, Deputy Heidi Soulsby said Health & Social Care could make around £5.2m. of recurring savings, but she is determined to see the money reinvested back into services.

However, Policy & Resources wants the money to go into general revenue.

Deputy Soulsby said year on year, Health was seeing the effect of an ageing population.

'We are making savings, but we are very concerned that those savings will be taken away from us and we won't be able to reinvest in the areas that we want to in the community and social care,' she told the panel.

During the hearing, Deputy Soulsby was also quizzed on the new MSG contract, transformation, children's services as well as healthcare in Alderney.
