Some prisoners to get a computer in cells
INMATES at Guernsey's prison are to have a computer terminal installed in their cell – provided their behaviour merits it.

However, these machines will not have internet access and instead will allow prisoners who are following courses to write reports and study material outside the classroom.
The idea is outlined in the prison's business plan for 2017, which said that telephones were installed in cells in 2014 and, at the same time, cabling was added to allow for computer terminals to be fitted later.
Prison governor Dave Matthews said that in the past the only time prisoners had access to IT was during scheduled periods of education.
