Heathrow air link ‘potential new route’

DIRECT flights between Guernsey and Heathrow is a ‘potential new route’ according to a report published by Heathrow Airport.

And if they come about, it is possible that the slots will be protected along with other proposed domestic connections.

A report from the airport, Bringing Britain Closer, includes a nine-point connectivity plan, and as part of this it refers to the importance of connectivity across the country.

This follows the UK Government’s approval of the building of a new runway and terminal at the airport.

Although not mentioned in the body of the report, the Channel Islands appear on a map which it includes, showing lines from Heathrow to Guernsey and Jersey and saying these are based on ‘potential new route maps published by easyJet and Flybe’.
