Motorists buying dashboard cameras ‘for reassurance’

GUERNSEY has seen an increase in the number of people buying dashboard cameras for their vehicles.

Dashboard cameras, or dash cams, are wide-angle video cameras that attach to the dashboard of your car recording the road while driving.

One local retailer puts the increase in sales down to peace of mind if and when a user find themselves in a collision.

Tom Sauvarin from Rohais Motor Centre, said that they’re popular with people from all age groups.

‘All ages are buying them and certainly a lot of truck and van drivers – people driving on a daily basis.

‘It’s not a set range of people, it’s just a useful tool to have.’
