‘Guernsey just feels like home,’ said Mr Kearns, and after arranging to marry at Forest Church, the couple invited more than 60 guests to travel over and join them on their special day.

Mr Kearns hails from Nuneaton in Warwickshire and has been visiting the island for 21 years.

He also came here as a child with his parents, staying at the then Forest Hotel and making Petit Bot his main holiday destination.

He started bringing his then fiancee over seven years ago and now she has also fallen in love with the island.

‘There was no other place in the world for our wedding,’ said the newly-wed Mrs Kearns as she and her husband left the church.
