Stage is set for Pride of Guernsey awards

TONIGHT’S the night when the 12 Guernsey Press Pride of Guernsey Award winners will finally be announced and presented with their medals.

The ceremony will be taking place at our transformed Guernsey Press headquarters in Braye Road, with 200 invited guests, including 36 finalists and event sponsors and supporters.

People at home will be able to follow live coverage on the Guernsey Press website, guernseypress.com, and our social media sites.

By the end of the event we will know which 12 islanders will be able to wear their exclusive winners’ medals with pride.

As last year, the accolades include: Emergency Hero of the Year (sponsored by Rossborough); Neighbour (Swoffers); Carer (Specsavers); Parent/s (The Christies Group); Grandparent/s (The Co-operative Society Ltd); Arts Contribution (Moonpig); Parish Champion (OCS); Angel (Ravenscroft); Overcoming Adversity (Close Finance), Welcome (Cimandis Foodservice); Young Achiever (Butterfield) and Teacher (Garenne).

The ceremony begins at around 5.15pm.

Coverage will be online and in Monday’s paper, with a full souvenir supplement appearing in Friday’s edition.
