EXPANSION could be on the horizon for the Guernsey College of Further Education’s apprenticeship schemes.

The college is holding a series of Future Workforce events with local businesses to help shape their future learning provision.

These will help to teach local industries about how apprenticeships work and how they could benefit their business, with the aim of shaping the future of the college’s scheme to the island’s needs.

If interest is shown at the events, the college could create new apprenticeship places in conjunction with businesses across a range of different new sectors where the scheme has not previously been offered.

The college has been reviewing its apprenticeship programme since last September.
