Flood warnings from Storm Brian

THE second-highest level of warning, usually given only once a year, has been issued for high tides this evening and tomorrow morning.

The flood warning issued by Guernsey Met is for the east coast this evening and the west tomorrow morning.

This evening’s 9.5m. high tide at 7.57 will coincide with force 6 to 7 southerly winds.

Tomorrow’s at 8.16am will see the wind blowing force 6 to 8 from the south-west.

The warning indicates that flooding is expected in low-lying coastal areas and drivers and pedestrians are advised to take extreme care.

The warnings are linked to Storm Brian, which has also caused travel disruption.
