Keep Green Hut the same, say customers

A ‘QUAINT’ Guernsey institution is up for sale and regulars hope whoever takes it on keeps it the same.

The business that runs Ephgrave Stores, otherwise known as the Green Hut, has been put on the market and whoever buys it will take on the lease for the building.

The popular St Martin’s takeaway has been serving baguettes, baps, wraps and refreshments for many years and customer Susie Campanella, who was buying breakfast for her colleagues yesterday, hoped it would not change.

‘I know a lot of people who love it,’ she said.

‘They always say about how good the food is here and that it has a great atmosphere.

‘I wouldn’t change it at all – it’s a home from home without the work.’
