Takeaway premises in a disgusting state – judge

THE owner of the Rohais Chinese Takeaway was prosecuted under the food hygiene law for the second time in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Guang You Wang, 44, of Les Grand Bocages, Route Militaire, St Sampson’s, admitted running a food business at premises which were insanitary and where food was exposed to the risk of contamination. The offence occurred between 5 January and 20 May this year.

Judge Graeme McKerrell said going by the photographs, the place could only be described as disgusting and it was not a situation that had arisen overnight.

In 2012, Wang was fined a total of £3,000 after he admitted six counts of failing to comply with improvement notices.

Wang, was sentenced to two months in prison, suspended for two years, and fined £1,500.
