It is because of fears that it could close if a two-school model was introduced by the States.

A Facebook group has already gained support among the school’s community.

While nothing has been confirmed surrounding the two-school model plans, which are expected to be submitted as an amendment to Education’s proposals in December, Les Beaucamps’ size means it would need a large expansion to house the number of students and staff expected.

‘We represent some parents of Les Beaucamps School and we are proud of our school, our children and our teachers,’ the page says.

‘We understood that the Education Department were told to build a comprehensive system in three schools: Beaucamps, St. Sampson’s and La Mare de Carteret. Now we hear that two schools are a possibility. We do not want to see Beaucamps school at risk.’

Deputy Neil Inder, a member of Education, Sport & Culture, which is pushing for a three-school model, said it was encouraging to see the ‘two schools v three schools’ debate being held in the public domain.
