Education condemns letter by CFE governors as ‘premature’
A LETTER by the chairman of the College of FE’s board of governors criticising Education’s post-16 plans is premature, unfounded and inaccurate on a number of levels, according to Education.

However, the deputies behind the two 11-18 school model – which Julian Winser and his non-executive board ‘wholly supported’ – said the letter was a ‘significant intervention’ that showed Education’s plans to be ‘sub-optimal, if not unworkable’.
The Education committee expressed its ‘disappointment’ that the governors have pre-judged the contents of their policy letter.
Education said the governors had failed to engage with them throughout the process of drawing up their final plans for secondary and post-16 education.
