Education vice-president resigns after PR blunder
VICE-PRESIDENT of Education, Sport & Culture Deputy Carl Meerveld has resigned from the committee.

He announced his decision after accepting the blame for the launch of a clandestine PR campaign that was to be funded using public money.
The campaign, he said, was supposed to clearly bear the mark of the States, and was designed to market Education’s three-school proposals. It went live on Thursday without any sign of government involvement.
‘I have taken responsibility for an oversight in the implementation of a PR campaign for the proposals of ESC’s three-school model,’ Deputy Meerveld said.
