Roger Allsopp, chairman of CareWatch, a body set up as part of Health & Social Care’s transformation plans, has said that the island’s health services were experiencing a ‘most exciting time’.

Plans for the future of Guernsey’s health care system go before the States next week.

CareWatch will act as the ‘eyes and ears’ of Health & Social Care and islanders will have opportunities to raise their opinions with the body.

‘CareWatch’s function is to listen to people and feed their views back to the board of Health & Social Care and the board will listen, I can guarantee that,’ said Mr Allsopp.

‘Having been a member of the board for two sessions, they are extremely concerned to get things right and one of the most important things to do is listen to what people want.’
