The committee has decided that approved minutes of the meeting when a decision was made to engage a PR firm to promote its three-school model with a budget of up to £10,000 will not be made public until after the Scrutiny Management Committee publishes a full transcript of its snap hearing into the issue.

Education vice-president Carl Meerveld resigned after his decision to sign off a Facebook campaign that failed to disclose that the States was involved in it was revealed.

Questions remain about how much different committee members knew about the campaign and what discussion was had about using money that was saved from £93,000 it was given to investigate a rival two-school model.

Policy & Resources has agreed to release its ‘discovery of fact’ document, but will do so only once Education has released its minutes.

‘These will be published at the same time as the Hansard transcript of the hearing is released.’

Scrutiny expects that to be in the second half of January.
