Herm a one-off chance – new man in charge

RUNNING Herm is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, according to new hospitality director Craig Senior.

The 48-year-old arrived on the island with his partner, Emma Ellis, and their daughters Megan, 5, and Grace, 4, on Saturday.

So far they have already had a day being cut off by bad weather, but despite this Mr Senior said his family were thrilled with their new home and were settling in well.

‘My wife has been loving it,’ he said. ‘She was commuting to London until last week. Now she will have more time with the family.

‘With my daughters, I ask them when they go to bed every night what was the best thing about their day. Normally they say something they saw on TV or what they had for breakfast. But the last two nights they said the best thing has been “everything”. They have made friends already.’

Mr Senior has taken over from Jonathan Watson, who had been on Herm for 15 years. More than 250 people applied for the post.
