‘I have been uncomfortable on Education for some time’
OUTGOING Education board member David de Lisle has been ‘uncomfortable’ with the direction taken by the committee for some time, he said.
His resignation was handed in last week.
It emerged yesterday that this followed the committee vote on who should be the new vice-president.
Both he and Andrea Dudley-Owen had put their names forward, with Deputy Dudley-Owen being successful.
The vote took place following the resignation of Carl Meerveld over the controversial funding and running of a secretive Facebook PR campaign.
However, Deputy de Lisle denied that his resignation was connected to Deputy Meerveld’s departure.
‘I’ve been uncomfortable with the direction the committee has been taking for some time,’ he said.
