The deputies behind the secondary and post-16 model – Matt Fallaize, Richard Graham, Rhian Tooley and Mark Dorey – will release their report in full on Wednesday.

But before its publication, they have confirmed several details about the direction they are proposing for Guernsey’s education system.

In addition to the proposed new schools is a ‘completely new legal framework for organising education’ that would result in revisions to the Education Law and a significant devolution of powers to school leaders.

‘On both sites in the alternative model, the 11-to-16 phase would require only one or two classes per year more than the new school which the committee wants to build at La Mare de Carteret,’ the deputies said in the statement.
