A maximum gust of 53mph was recorded at Guernsey Airport just before 6am.

The high winds meant two flight rotations between Alderney and Guernsey were cancelled with a third delayed, while all other flights to and from Guernsey in the morning suffered some delays – the first Jersey departure, due to leave at 7.50am, was delayed until about 1.45pm.

At Le Guet a large pine tree fell on a Smart Car, causing extensive damage.
