KPMG has appointed its first digital apprentice. Nathan Pinchemain worked with the firm in the Digital Greenhouse’s Digital Interns scheme last summer.

Nathan Pinchemain will combine working for the firm’s CI digital team while undertaking distance learning for a BSc degree in digital and technology solutions from the University of Exeter.

The initiative is also supported by the States, which is contributing towards university fees.

Mr Pinchemain completed a Btec level three extended diploma in ICT at the College of Further Education this year. He also took part in the Digital Interns scheme and was part of a team of six who spent three weeks on a project for KPMG.

‘I passed my Btec with distinction, however, going to university was not a straightforward option for me and I was uncertain of what to do next,’ he said.

‘When I learnt about the possibility of a digital apprenticeship at KPMG, I leapt at the chance to apply.

‘I’m excited to now be working for KPMG on internal projects, learning more about digital innovation and cyber security.

‘Time is allocated for me each week for my studies, and each month, for in-depth sessions at the university. This is a very exciting blend of learning and working, which is an excellent way for me to progress my career.’
