The theft is alleged to have occurred at about 11am on 11 January.

Darren Henderson, 37, of 21 Rue Flere, Vale, and Kyle Henderson, 32, of St Julian's House, Vauxlaurens, St Peter Port, did not enter pleas when they appeared to face a charge that they jointly stole several packets of Nitrazepam.

Darren Henderson is further charged that he was in possession of a 'life' emergency hammer, while Kyle is also charged with possession of cannabis resin.

Advocate Sam Steel represented Kyle Henderson, with Liam Roffey representing Darren.

Both applied for an open remand with conditions, but in view of the circumstances Judge Graeme McKerrell said he would remand them in custody until a committal hearing could take place.
