An inquest into the death of a baby at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital will now not happen until June at the earliest.

Baby Jack was born at 1.29am on 30 January 2014 and died at 3.35pm the same day.

Four years on, the inquest is still yet to be heard.

At a review hearing yesterday, two weeks were put aside for the inquest, starting from Monday 18 June. A further review hearing will be held on Monday 26 February.

It had been hoped the inquest could take place in February but it was established yesterday that this was no longer possible.

A total of six advocates were present at the review, representing the different parties in the case, and a directions order was agreed. This included a direction that the police provide a list of all documentation it received as part of officers’ investigation into Baby Jack’s death.
