Some of Aurigny's regional flights, including Gatwick and Manchester, have had to divert and this morning’s Alderney services to be cancelled.

The airline has warned of further potential disruption this afternoon.

'Aurigny is working hard to minimise weather disruption in the Bailiwick today,' said a spokesman.

'The forecast also shows the possibility of poor visibility late afternoon, which could further impact on our services.

'Affected passengers are being offered the opportunity to move onto alternative flights or to cancel and claim a refund.

Aurigny is also looking at the possibility of chartering an aircraft, but this is dependent on the weather conditions.

'We would like to apologise to all passengers for the weather disruption and inconvenience it has caused.

'Staff are working hard to keep the disruption to an absolute minimum and we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.'
