And eagle-eyed viewers might catch a glimpse of the real Bailiwick in the movie, after it was confirmed still images of the island have been incorporated.

The announcements have been made by Arts Foundation Guernsey, which is organising the early-screening events, and marketing and tourism director Mike Hopkins.

A black-tie event is being organised by the Arts Foundation on 12 April, which the stars will hopefully attend, followed by a more casual showing on 13 April. The events are being organised by Guernsey Arts Foundation, and followed by special screenings courtesy of StudioCanal.

Guernsey Arts Foundation co-founder Melissa Mourton said organising was under way and she hopes the film’s leading actors – Downton Abbey star Lily James and Game of Thrones actor Michiel Huisman – will be available to come to the island.

‘We are in talks with StudioCanal to try and get cast members and director Mike Newell over,’ she said.

‘We are very excited.’

The film is set to be released on 20 April.
