Harbour master resigns

HARBOUR Master Captain Chad Murray has resigned after four years in the post to return to the private sector.

His resignation was said in a statement to have been 'reluctantly accepted' by Guernsey Ports yesterday.

'In the five years since his appointment Chad has been a fully effective and dynamic Harbour Master and has actioned many workstreams aimed at improving compliance across many different areas of maritime affairs.' it read.

Captain Murray was recently appointed to report to the States of Jersey on the rift between the the island's RNLI and St Helier lifeboat crew which is due to form part of a debate taking place on 20 March.

An advertisement for a replacement will be posted soon as Captain Murray will be leaving his position in May .
