Van ablaze at former Bowl car park in suspected arson

A SUSPECTED arson attack on a derelict van is under investigation by the Guernsey Police.

The vehicle was found alight at the former Guernsey Bowl site car park by a member of the public at around 6pm Tuesday evening.

The Guernsey Fire and Rescue White Watch attended the scene with a single fire appliance along with police. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a hose-reel controlled the blaze.

The fire was extinguished and, after liaising with the police, the fire crew left the scene at around 7.40pm.
