More than 15 vehicles gathered at the Guernsey Folk and Costume Museum at 9.30am and then set off for an island run about an hour later.

Guernsey Vintage and Classic Tractor Club chairman Ron Le Cras said it was always a great event.

‘We do lots of tractor runs and this is the first one of 2018,’ he said.

‘It is what the club is all about. It’s about using tractors and we all enjoy meeting together.’

The tractors travelled around Castel and St Saviour’s, before ending up at Vistas.

Mr Le Cras said lots of people wave to them as they go past.

Before setting off the public had the chance to get up close with the vehicles.

Among them was Matthew Gregor, who popped down with his children Chloe, three, and Joseph, two.

‘This is our first time coming down for the tractors and it’s a nice thing to do before church,’ he said.

Museum curator Christian Morris said they were very happy to host the tractors for the morning. The museum only opened for the summer last Tuesday.

‘It’s a nice way to let people know the museum is open,’ he said.
