The South-East deputy was promoted at the committee’s first meeting under new president Peter Roffey.

Deputy Roffey replaced Deputy Matt Fallaize as president of Sacc last month.

The Vale deputy stepped down because of his new commitments as president of Education, Sport & Culture.

The five-person committee is completed by Deputies Michelle Le Clerc and Mark Dorey and new member Neil Inder.

Deputy Inder, who was elected in the States last week ahead of Deputy Roffey’s proposed candidate, Deputy Jonathan Le Tocq, was not present at the meeting.
