Rossborough Insurance chose the RNLI as its charity of the year for 2017 and staff raised more than £2,800, which went a long way towards kitting out three new crew members. Company staff raised £2,856 for the local RNLI after choosing it as its charity of the year in 2017.

‘To be chosen as charity of the year by an organisation like Rossborough Insurance makes a big difference for us and shows just how important the RNLI and the lifeboat is to the people of Guernsey,’ said Edward Fattorini, who chairs the Guernsey Lifeboat Supporters Association.

‘In recent months, we have taken on three new crew members who have just completed their training. However, their full kit and uniform costs about £1,000 each.

‘We are very pleased to say the money raised by the Rossborough team will allow us to get these new recruits kitted out.’

Ian Stewart, Rossborough managing director, Guernsey, said the company was proud to support the RNLI.

‘The morning we gave the donation officially saw the Spirit of Guernsey go out on a call and that is what supporting them is all about,’ added Mr Stewart.
