It was the first time in 20 years that a multiple FIM speed event had taken place on UK soil with several motorcycle world records up for grabs.

Despite the inclement weather of rain, strong winds, and being plagued by several mechanical issues, the daredevil rider secured three new ACU national category records – the flying start quarter mile, flying start kilometre and flying start mile – plus breaking a UKTA British record.

All speeds were sanctioned, taken on a two-way average speed, measured as time over distance, as opposed to trap speeds.

Mr Eisenberg was racing his famous 350bhp super-charged Suzuki Hayabusa, dubbed The Green Machine, and capped off the successful weekend by setting a new personal best of 229.8mph.

An elated Mr Eisenberg said: ‘Thanks to Sean for rebuilding the engine, Mirella and Miguel for their superb non-stop help throughout the weekend, and to the amazing event organisers at Straightliners, ACU, UKTA, FIM and Speed Record Club for making it all possible.

‘I am exhausted, but safe, and thrilled to be back in the saddle.

‘It’s now back to Guernsey for a quick prep turnaround ahead of the Pendine Sand Racing Speed Trials this weekend, where I hope to defend my sandracing title.’

Mr Eisenberg secured the outright sand record at Pendine Sands, in Wales in May hitting 201.572mph at the Straightliners Top Speed event.

n It was at the Elvington event in 2016 that Mr Eisenberg sustained multiple injuries, including 11 broken bones, when he crashed at more than 200mph.
