Of the five options that voters will be asked to choose from, only three have attracted the support of campaign groups and representatives of each will give a short presentation outlining why it thinks it is the best choice.

The two options without campaigns behind them will be represented by a volunteer.

States’ Assembly and Constitution Committee president Peter Roffey encouraged people to attend to learn more about each of the options.

Following the presentations, a question and answer session will be chaired by Jurat Stephen Jones in which audience members will get the chance to put questions, and there will also be some that have been submitted in advance or via the Facebook stream.

The evening will conclude with each of the five representatives giving a closing speech.

As well as this public meeting, the team supporting the referendum will be going out into the community to raise awareness and promote participation in the vote.

‘We are stepping up our engagement with the public over the coming weeks by visiting different groups to promote the referendum,’ said Deputy Roffey.

The public meeting starts at 7pm in the Beau Sejour theatre and will be streamed live on the States' Facebook page as well as being broadcast on BBC Guernsey’s AM and FM transmitters.
