‘King of Everland’ is told he must stop his digging
A LAND owner who declared himself king of a piece of Castel land has been ordered to immediately stop excavating the site.

Steve Ogier bought land off Ruette Du Frocq in 2011, with dreams of building his own home. But he was told there was not a chance of being granted planning permission.
In July, he declared independence, calling the site ‘Everland’ and pledged that he would create his own home.
Now the planners have stepped in, issuing an interim compliance notice.
It ordered Mr Ogier to stop doing any excavating – by mechanical means or by hand.
The notice took effect at 5pm on Thursday, just 24 hours after the notice was issued.
Ordinarily compliance notices give property owners weeks or months to stop their activities.
Two further compliance notices have been issued.
One of the notices orders that Mr Ogier demolish the entire newly constructed dry stone wall, which is next to the northern boundary of the site, and remove a timber shed.
This work must be done by 1 December.
The second notice orders that Mr Ogier return the land to its former level and backfill any unauthorised excavations. That has a deadline of 31 December.
