Held at Blanchelande College, stallholders and customers occupied the main hall with live music throughout the day provided by the The Vale Earth Fair Collective.

The event raises valuable funds for Guernsey Motor Neurone LBG, a charity especially close to Gina Davies’ heart.

‘My mum passed away 10 years ago,’ said Mrs Davies, who is married to the event’s main organiser, Vaughan.

‘Vaughan had always wanted to do a record fair and said ‘‘why don’t we start one in honour of your mum?’’.

‘Motor Neurone is such a terrible disease and the more people know about it, the more money we can raise and the more helpful it will be for people suffering with it.’

‘It is a disease that progresses quite quickly so it is important to raise as much money as possible.’

First staged in 2010, Mr Davies said it was an event he enjoyed being part of.

‘It is the ninth year we have been doing it for Guernsey Motor Neurone and in the past we have raised £12,000 towards a good cause,’ he said.

‘Just as importantly, vinyl has made a really big comeback in recent years and in my opinion it is best sound.

‘We have had some great live acts today, lots of stallholders and there is everything here from classical to heavy metal.’
